The fibers are positioned in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound. The tube is wrapped with a layer of water blocking glass yarn. A corrugated steel tape is applied over the yarn. Two rip cords are located between the glass yan and the steel tape. Then the cable is completed with a high density polyethylene (HDPE) sheath.
